Available Roles
The Playbook aims to be valuable to a range of organizations and people interested in creating, implementing, and using health data standards. A potentially large number of roles has been consolidated into the following three groups:
For individuals in any particular role, there certainly could be value to reviewing also the content recommended for other roles.
Leadership
Important content for people in a leadership role, such as specialty and Use Case Champions, potential participants in governance, organizational executives, program and project managers, task leads, funding organization leaders, and similar positions. Recommended reading is focused on the executive-level description of the "tracks" summarized in the Introduction plus other key, executive content.
Clinical SMEs
Important content for people in a clinical or specialty subject matter expert role, such as patients, doctors, nurses, health technicians, researchers, health terminologists, clinical experts from vendors and/or payers, and similar positions. Clinical SMEs who may also help to translate health requirements into FHIR IGs may also find the Technical Experts useful.
Technical Experts
Important content for people in a technical expert role such as data modelers, terminologists, informaticists, FHIR Implementation Guide developers, software developers, designers, testers, HL7 participants, and similar positions.
